Thanks to the Community Matters scheme currently being run by Waitrose, tenants at our supported living service in Fleet, Hampshire, are to benefit.  Using the token voting system, customers at the Fleet store have helped to raise £260.  This will enable the service to further enhance their garden, which received a make-over this summer.

A similar project in Petersfield received support through the Community Matters scheme around this time last year.  We are very grateful to Waitrose for their support to us and other local charities.

Scottish & Southern Energy plc lend their support

scottish and southern charity day Nov 09 023The Havant offices of Scottish & Southern Energy plc in Hampshire, held a Charity Week last month, during which staff at their new premises on Penner Road involved themselves in a wide range of fundraising activities.  As one of the charities to benefit, Elizabeth FitzRoy Support took part in a Fun Day, the culmination of a hectic week, which everyone had enjoyed.

A stunning piece of artwork, ‘Emmerdale’ , produced by members of Waterlooville Day Services, which was purchased by Scottish & Southern 2 years ago, is now proudly displayed in the new restaurant area, and is being much admired.

Our thanks go to Scottish & Southern Energy plc for their continuing, very generous support.

Learning Disability Today exhibition in London

Exhibition

Elizabeth FitzRoy Support exhibited at last month’s Learning Disability Today exhibition in central London.

This is a major annual event for the learning disability sector, where commissioners, users, families and prospective staff and volunteers go to find out about specific providers and their services across the country.

Many of the stands are inter-active, demonstrating equipment and services available to users.  Others concentrate on attracting new clients or informing potential employees of opportunities across the sector.

We demonstrated Sensory World, which always proves an attention-grabber, and also promoted the new rural skills project and supported volunteering.
