Elizabeth FitzRoy Support is pleased to announce our website is enabled with a new technology to aid accessibility for those with reading difficulties.
We have teamed up with Texthelp Systems to provide a service which gives our visitors the chance to listen to efitzroy.org.uk. All you have to do is simply install the free Browsealoud software by following the steps below.
Browse aloud is a Windows Browser plug-in designed for use with Internet Explorer 4 upwards or Netscape Navigator. You can control the voice, pitch and speed. When you scroll over the text on the website, Browsealoud will read and speak what you require.
How to download Browsealoud
You can download this program by clicking one of the links below. They will take you to the Browsealoud website.
The first link, called 'Browsealoud website', takes you to a page that has picture a saying ‘Download Browsealoud'. If you click on this picture Browsealoud will start to download.
The second link, called 'Browsealoud instructions', takes you to a page that gives you more information on how to download Browsealoud and install it on your computer.

How to use Browsealoud
When Browsealoud is installed on your computer, go back to the Elizabeth FitzRoy Support website and move your mouse over the words.
Leave your mouse pointing at the words, they will become highlighted in yellow and the Browsealoud voice will read them out to you.
Browsealoud will also read out descriptions of the pictures on our website.
To stop the voice press the 'Ctrl' key on your keyboard.
How to change the way Browsealoud works
If you double click on the Browsealoud icon you will be able to change the settings which affect the way it works. For more information on this see the Browsealoud website.
