Home > User story – Ann
Ann has lived at Lorraine Road, a supported living service in Timperley, Cheshire, for 28 years. She loves her flat and gets on well with the other tenants. They hold regular tenants’ meetings and talk about their own news and what they are up to, as well as things like fire procedures. Staff help her to manage her money so that she can budget for food and clothes.
Ann loves holidays and went to Blackpool last year with Brian who lives in the upstairs flat. Her dream is to visit her sister in Canada, but she knows it is a long flight.
Ann likes the freedom of having her own flat and takes great pride in washing her clothes, ironing, mopping the floor and cooking her meals.
She goes to the Day Base in Trafford and is part of the FitzRoy Team, a group of 6 people with learning disabilities who deliver disability awareness training to new members of staff. She is really enjoying this challenge and hopes to meet lots of new people through this project. The Team recently gave a presentation to the Trustees as part of their annual strategy meeting.
