He started at the Park in 2007 and has become a regular member of the gardening team. He often clears up leaves and litter from the paths and borders, hoes flower beds and lays down bark chipping to maintain pathways.

He has built up a good rapport with the Head Gardener who understands Paul’s needs and interests. Paul is generally quiet in group situations when he attends our Day Centre in Trafford, but he is very talkative on a one-to-one basis about his role in the community.
He also enjoys meeting local people who visit this award-winning park. He takes great pride in his achievements and the fact that he is doing something for his local community

With training and guidance, Paul has now begun to walk to the park independently, and we are helping him to develop his life/social/practical skills further.
