Whitegates and The Cottage are situated on one site in a quiet, rural location. Whitegates, one of our larger, older style homes is home to 8 people and is part of a major re-development project. Three brand new, 5 bedroom homes are due to be built on the same footprint in 2011, to replace Whitegates, which no longer totally meets the increasing needs of the residents. Similar re-provision projects have already been successfully completed around Elizabeth FitzRoy Support, bringing huge benefits to everyone involved. The Cottage which is next door to Whitegates, is a modern, fully accessible bungalow and home to a further 6 people.
Whitegates and The Cottage currently has a 3* Excellent CQC rating. Due to a change in legislation, CQC stopped awarding quality ratings under the Care Standards Act from July 2010. For more information please visit the CQC website.
Those who live at Whitegates and The Cottage are supported to follow their own specific interests, both at home and in the local community. They attend On Track in Petersfield through which they access their chosen day care sessions which can include IT, art and drama, music, hydrotherapy and daily living skills. Residents are encouraged to be independent and to take part in the day to day running of their own homes.
