Supported Volunteering

Many of the people we support enjoy opportunities to contribute to their local communities by volunteering. Some help at large organisations such as The National Trust, Norfolk County Council, the Hawk and Owl Trust and Age Concern, and others with smaller groups such as community centres, lunch clubs, churches and charity shops. The roles vary from conservation work, library assistance, catering and cleaning to office work, classroom assistance, retail and sorting donated goods.

Our Supported Volunteering scheme takes great care to match the interests and abilities of the people we support with responsible organisations which offer interesting and worthwhile roles. Not only do these organisations benefit from this much-needed help, but our Supported Volunteers benefit, too, from the camaraderie and appreciation, and the development of their skills, confidence and self-esteem.
